Deutsch: Das am 14. August 1976 vom Landkreis Cloppenburg genehmigte Wappen ist abgeleitet vom mittelalterlichen Landessiegel des Saterlandes. Das Wappen zeigt Karl den Großen (carolus magnus), der den Friesen der Legende nach ihre weitreichenden Freiheitsrechte zugesichert hatte.
